Post Office Solicitor Panel

Having a bit of a nightmare with my mortgage application in that my solicitor isn't on the Post Office approved panel and can't complete the application. As far as I can see I have 3 options:

1. Move to an approved solicitor and lose fees to current 1
2. Move to a new mortgage provider and lose fees to current 1
3. Pay extra to Post Office for them to employ a solicitor to check my solicitors work (I think?)

Has anyone done option 3 before? Any idea of the cost involved? Will try to contact Post Office tomorrow if they're not closed!! Solicitor isn't back until 6th Jan

Was your solicitor aware that you were using The Post office? as surely they should not have accepted the case?


Your solicitor may have arrangement with a larger local solicitor who is on their panel, if so then they may "front" it through them.
