Evening all
Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this one
Filled out most of my self assessment which I have to do thanks to the gov child benefit clawback.
All prett straight forward except there is no where obvious to actually put in that we received child benefit
Has anyone done theirs and worked out where it needs to go?
I assumed that as I received the letter from Hmrc telling me I had to do it for the clawback it would be quite obvious where I had to put it.
I am assuming that they have not written the systems to be clever enough to actually cross reference and work out behind the scenes that I have to pay some of it back.
Cheers

Do you have the right form (SA 100)?0 -
gov child benefit clawback.
And have you thought of paying more into your pension to avoid losing the CB? http://www.theguardian.com/money/2013/sep/28/child-benefit-pension-contributions-higher-earners0 -

Thanks for the replies.
Sorry should have mentioned I am doing it online so I am guessing I missed it or have to select a specific option at the start.
Thanks for the advice on the pension but in my case it was overtime that pushed me over the 50k in 12/13.
Overtime been cut by 75% this year so I won't bust through the barrier for 13/14 so pointless changing the pension.
As it is by my calculation what I over paid in 12/13 should roughly pay back the 3 month clawback anyway.August Make £10 per day £0/£310Credit Card Debt Paid Off £42/2952.680 -
Found it.
Turns out in the tailor your return bit when you click the yes to child benefit and yes to £50k it drops another option to say
Is your income higher than your partners.
Could have sworn I clicked yes but it was showing as no.
Toggle that and the relevant section pops up.
Thanks for the help guys
Now just to figure out how to get it to accept my tax code right.August Make £10 per day £0/£310Credit Card Debt Paid Off £42/2952.680
