Yes, my parents got home this afternoon. Arran has had some terrible weather and because the house is right by the beach, they always worry about the tide and flooding! The tide did once rise right up to their front door not so long ago and they said they watched as swans swam past their conservatory window! My parents love it over there - my dad loves fishing so keeps his boat moored over there and he plays golf and him and my mum go for walks. It takes about 3 1/2 hours to drive over to Ardrossan and then it is an hour over on the ferry and they must go at least once a month for a weeks holiday!

We went over last year for the day with ferry tickets I won. It was on the 1st April so snow was still on the hills and they had generators everywhere. Want to go back and see more though.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

It is lovely over there Sheils - my parents took us over for family holidays twice a year from the year I was born - we used to stay in a little cottage at Cordon called 'shore cottage'. Then about 12 years ago my parents heard that they were building 4 new houses at Cordon and they immediately bought one! It is a lovely house - sleeps 6 - or even more if we take camp beds - so the family are always over there!
Arran is great too as there are only two roads on the island - one that runs around the island and one that runs across! There are loads of deer and wild ponies living there too and we often see them when we are out walking. The only downside is the ferry is often called off with high winds so you can get stuck over there or you won't get a daily newspaper lol!! There island made cheese and fudge is lovely too!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
Ohhh I don't know whether any of you do surveys but I am registered with a few survey sites, including One Poll, Pinecone Research, Ipsos, Populuslive, etc I think they are great
I have just claimed £40 worth of Amazon vouchers from my Pinecone research, which I didn't realise I had until they emailed me just now! And the other day I received £40 worth of John Lewis Vouchers from Ipsos!. I am also due to receive a £50 from Populuslive shortly - so if you are not signed up you should be! I admit, some of the surveys they send are boring to complete but I also get loads of freebies to test out like washing powder, dishwasher tablets, shampoo, etc and still get paid to evaluate them! Defo worth the little effort!

Pinecone Research - I have had all sorts from them - full size products too - not samples! Shampoo and conditioner, washing powders and softeners, dishwasher tablets, cleaning products, cereals etc! :j:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0
