Postman just been and brought a book from one of my posts - Bird Box. It looks quite good. Will see if DH fancies reviewing it for me as reads so much. Hadn't been entering for any books for a while but decided to enter for ones I thought DH would like last month.

    lovely, well done sheils :j:j

Hi everyone, its been raining during the night and very dull here today. GD is just getting ready to go into town to meet her boyfriend. I need to get a shifty on today as I expect I will be homework duty at some point today or tomorrow.

OH comes from Darlington Sheils. He says the Railway Museum is good but hasn't been for years. We noticed quite a lot of fields flooded on our way back from DD's last week as well. We have got away very lightly this end of the country though. In the Daily Mail yesterday they were showing peeps walking around their kitchen up to their thighs in water. It must be dreadful for them seeing their homes destroyed like that. I do hope that DD feels better today.

I see you have been cleaning your bird houses out again firefly. You do look after them so well.

Do you still have your smalls with you today SAX, hope they are feeling better anyway.

Hi wingo/Bella/Katie and anyone else who pops in. Have a lovely weekend.

    SYL

I have them every weekend - friday to sunday

Little one has a few more spots today but they do seem to be going. The middle one is being a niggly pain to the eldest who is acting like a petulant teenager.

Swimming lessons later so i'll at least have a half hour break :D

Do you have 3 girls? I was the oldest of 3 girls and my sisters drove me mad!
My DD is 15 and can't make up her mind if she wants to be an adult or act like a little kid. She was away for the night and came back in for 10mins to have an argument before going away again. She must be feeling better. :D

Hi everyone. Sylvia know what its like to have shingles, hope you get well soon. Unfortunately I had them twice both times on my face. My left eye almost closed, can be quite dangerous. Yes they are brought on by stress.
Lisa Simpson you were asking about travelling to Scotland, here's a little tip for you, a few years ago I travelled to Ayr from N Ireland, was travelling next day from Ayr to Glasgow then Edinburgh, I went on the internet to check travelling details/reviews etc. and found a golden nugget of information. When you fly into Scotland, if you have to travel on within Scotland you present your Plane ticket when you are purchasing your Train ticket etc and you get 50% of the fare. My daughter and I did this and got from Ayr to Edinburgh at half price each. As Michael Caine would say "not a lot of people know that".
wingo glad to hear your kitchen plans are speeding up. Wishing you well in your new kitchen when complete. Happy and profitable times on your new iPad.
Weather here quite stormy although sun trying to make an appearance. We had all seasons yesterday, sun, rain and hailstones!
My postman isn't round yet, or else he past by earlier and there was nothing for me. Our local sorting office had a device found in it the other day, glad I got my After Eights win last week and not this week. Bill Clinton paid our city a visit on Wednesday and although it was near to where I work I didn't go to see him.
Hope we are all lucky this week.

Oh forgot to say thanks Katie for virus warning. I think I have a virus on my laptop (just over a year old), and had to borrow another laptop.
One night a couple of weeks ago I was on Facebook and there was a competition/freebie for Thorntons Chocolates without thinking I hit the button and then it went onto a site where you can get cash back on purchases, I usually avoid this sort of thing, so I came back out of the site without entering the comp/freebie. I was a bit dubious about it and its since then my laptop has been playing up. It could be my laptop needs clearing out but I think I may have got a virus.

Postman has just been. I saw him walking across my drive from next doors drive, he stopped looked through the letters he was holding and turned and walked back down my drive. So no prizes for me today.
I would need to start doing some housework so will get back to comping later.
    Speak to you later.
