We are back safely. Some of the roads getting near home were flooded so driving a bit difficult at times.(DH was driving)

Glad it was you who won the wine elle - well done!

Will keep my fingers crossed for you for the job purple.

Off to do a few comps now. The free internet at The Holiday Inn was Ok but not speedy at loading things.

Thanks FF & ILC. Still can't believe Lancaster Hol Inn was so generous giving us 2 nights B&B instead of 1 night room only. Have always liked that hotel although it is nearly 3 years since we stayed there. Usually stay across the road at the Premier Inn but will make more of an effort to stay with them now as they do BOGOFs and offers sometimes. I try to be loyal to companys who have given me nice prizes. Do other peeps do that?

You will be a right soup expert after reading the books ILC!

Good luck with the job Purple.

Glad you got back OK Sheils and had a good time. Can you drive or is it just your DH? I always find it hard as Fred never learn't to drive.

GD has gone home now firefly, we took her out for lunch and got her a lovely jumper as well so she was happy enough. Also tacked the maths homework.

Taking my lappie in on Thursday for a new screen, £75. That will teach me to be more careful in the future. Not sure how long it will take.

It is a very wet/cold/windy day here.

    Good luck everyone.
BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS

I can drive Sylvia but very seldom do. We had an automatic for several years and have gone back to a manual and it has put me off a bit.
DH is an ex-bus driver who used to drive double deckers etc before becoming a postman so is such an experienced driver he would rather drive himself than let other peeps.
Shame about lappy but hopefully won't take too long.
Here is a link to my latest photos for anyone who wants to see them. Please just ignore if not interested as I don't want to bore anyone - they aren't exciting!

  • I think being loyal to companies that give you good prizes is a nice thing to do, Sheils! I try to be loyal to companies that have made an effort for my business and shown they value me as a customer. It'd be nice to reward them by staying again after they were so generous :)

Thanks for the good luck wishes everyone xx

May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx

We got loads of bargains on way home at Tesco at Dumfries - they were reducing loads of things and had a 5p off petrol voucher. They had 24 cans coke/diet coke/Irn'bru for £5 and spirits at £15 a litre. We got a large gammon joint for £3.60 and are having some of it for dinner, should be loads left over. Got cherries and blueberries at half price too.
Truprint have the £4.99 for 100 prints offer on again if anyone is interested. Must get that sorted out later as DH likes the photos in albums.
