Sorry to hear that Scamps0

What midwinter said scamps. I'm sure it's not legal for her to clear out your bank account (even if it is joint) and she certainly can't take a car if it's in your name. I'm very sorry this has happened to you and especially at this time of year.
I do hope there is someone you can stay with for the time being whilst you get your affairs in order. We'll all be here for you.Debt free 6th December 2014

"I might drop the suggestion into my call to housing tomorrow, might make them reconsider. What annoys me is there are hundreds of other people more desperate for housing than me. Are they going to let a brand new house stand empty for 4 weeks then?? When they could be offering to another family before Christmas!"
@willowwispy
Forgot to ask at the time, how did you get on with your dispute with the housing association?
(Apologies if you've already reported back, must've missed it:o)'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

Wishing all the Elite a positive 2014 (for glitches and everything else)!
My resolution is to post more and be more realistic about what I buy - do deals and the glitches I need but not ones that I won't use what I get!
Scamps1966 - thinking of you, so sorry to read what happened.0 -
scamps

you have people here who will listen0 -
Happy New Year to one and all. :j

Found out yesterday that she's been bidding on house's and one has come up (she has to call about it on the 5th) which means I'll be homeless!!! She went to see her parents last night (I don't get on with them!) and she came home at 9am this morning. She's packed a bag and gone back to her parents house. Just checked and our bank account has been cleared. Sorry if this is bringing the thread down but I need somewhere to take my mind off things. I've got a stinking hangover, so it's just as well she's taken my car.
Sorry peeps, I'll see you in a bit.
Ahhh hun, what a really sh1tty thing to do. Moan on here as much as you need to and if there's anything I can help with I will. Big fats hugs to you babe. XLife is not about learning to avoid the storms - it's about learning to dance in the rain.0 -
Good afternoon Elite - missed the morning slot
as few too many sherries were consumed last night
Scamps hun - please don't do anything rash. Not read back yet but my advice (if I've got the gist of things) is let the dust settle before you do anything. You are obviously a hard working, resourceful chap and when you are ready you will work out what is right for you. I truly hope that you will find light at the end of your personal tunnel. Meanwhile we are all here for you0 -

Just to repeat what lots of other people have said, get your head clear, and then get some legal advice - tomorrow. As midwinter's said, there's Citizens' Advice, or most solicitors will offer an hour's consultation free. There may be people on here with legal knowledge who could offer informal advice today.
Speak to the bank as well tomorrow, or visit in person and see the manager. (Do you know him/her already?) Or is there phone/internet bank support today? Again, there may be people on here today who can offer advice on the legality of your account being cleared.
Here's some information about being made homeless, if you need to prepared for the worst, from Citizens Advice
http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/england/housing_e/faq_index_housing/faq_housing_homeless_will_council_rehouse_me.htm
and Shelter
http://england.shelter.org.uk/get_advice/homelessness/help_from_the_council_when_homeless/applying_as_homeless
and you might want to visit your council housing office, whenever it's open.
If the car is in your name, then there is always the (admittedly drastic) option of reporting it as stolen, if you think it has been 'taken without consent'.
And here is the place to come and 'take your mind off things'.'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'
