I'm very surprised that midwives would do home visits for the still expecting. Doesn't happen in my area. I would have thought it is easier to go to hospital in case they need to keep you in.

I agree, no point having piles of stuff I will never use.

Westie I must thank you for the Shaun T links. It has really given me the push I need to get a bit fitter. Did all 15 yesterday, extending them till the next one started, so 25 minutes of exercise.:T

The midwife was meant to be visiting yesterday because the local surgery was shut over xmas when DD1 would have been due her appointment. She would not normally have had a home visit.

As it was she didn't get it anyway and had to do the 1hr round trip to the hospital.

Latest update, 1cm dilated without knowing a thing :rotfl:, midwife could feel head so sweep been done in the hope of getting things going. :)

Is anyone getting back into 5:2 after the festivities?

I might have to apply that in reverse to my purse. 2 days I spend money, 5 days I don't :rotfl:

Yes, I am. Went away for Christmas and the hotel food was excellent - 3 square meals a day resulted in a 3lb weight gain. Not too bad though as I was nearly 2lbs down on my target weight when I went. I reckon that f I can get a couple of lbs down below my target before I go away anywhere it shouldn't take too long to drop again. I'm a little bit concerned about my 3.5 weeks AI in Sri Lanka in late January though !

I bought one (full price though :() and reckon it's way better than the Mary Berry one. Nearly got high off the fumes of the brandy soaked fruit. Messed up with it a bit though because it needed a 7 inch tin and we put it in a 9 inch one so it was decidedly flatter than it should have been. Also glad I bought extra marzipan & icing as the stuff that came with it would have been see through by the time it was rolled out. It still tasted excellent though!
