Fresh Roasting Chickens From Aldi

UnderPressure

My long suffering love of my life went with our daughter last night to our local village hall to play "Poultry Bingo", they go every year, my wife has a nack of winning something every year as she did last night. It is a normal game of bingo but the prizes are Turkeys or Chickens that kind of thing.
Anyway, last night she won some money and also a chicken, when she brought it home it had a creamy coloured label similar to Marks and Spencers but after looking at the back I could see it was in fact from Aldi, I have had some success over the years buying things from Aldi but not been fro a while now so was a bit sceptical.
Today I took it out of the package and it had a nice weight to it, looked healthy and was dry, usually they are a bit wet but this one was lovely and dry and looked like a nice chicken, I roasted it plain with just a little salt and pepper and it was fantastic, one of the best tasting chickens I have had in a long long time, really good quality, succulent, delicious meat. Needless to say in January we are going to give Aldi another go, if this is the quality of something as simple as a fresh chicken I cannot wait to try some other things from there.
Just thought I would share
