cfs taking unauthorised payment

Can anyone advise me to help my oh?
He is in a dmp with baines and earnst for over two years now, he has a few missed payments recently but paying since September.
His wages went in today and cfs loans have taken over 900 out so he is left with nothing.
We have sent email to both firms but as its sunday we can not get response.
Has anyone else had this happen? Obviously we have demanded a refund but I am concerned as I don't know cfs and he does not have much paperwork typical bloke.
If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.
I have told him he needs to leave b&e and find someone better as they should have prevented this.

  • Yes, use debt charity fir DMP. Free. Look at Stepchange.

    Who are CFS? Payday loan?

You could ask his bank for refund if this is an unauthorised transaction.

  • I love step change but I am doing an iva so I know my stuff. I told him off for using b&e when he could have a better service with step change.
It was a payday loan from a while ago, we haven't been together that long so don't know the history, I am going to get his credit file as a lot of his paperwork is still at his parents.
  • He has spoken to his bank but they told him to contact the firm concerned. We have emailed both firms but need to wait til mon.
  • I see.

He should cancel any CPAs with the bank and companies as soon as he can, in writing. That way, it's easier to prevent payments and get money back if they go out.

Don't let the bank fob you off. YOU are in charge, not the bank.

Recontact them and TELL them to refund the money as it was an unauthorised transaction. Do not be put off by the bank's huffing and puffing.

Once the money has been refunded, withdraw it all immediately and close the account and reopen one with another unconnected bank.
