How to Complain about delivery from Knowhow / Currys

Hello all,
Not sure this is in the right thread, please feel free to bump into the right one!
Ordered a washing machine in store on Friday for free delivery today in a 4 hour time slot.Paid in Cash.
Rung the customer support line last night to confirm and was told to expect between 11-3. No problem so far.
This morning both the house phone and wife's mobile ring only 2 rings for each, with-held number and no voicemail.
I thought that had to be Knowhow so double checked online and a message "Please call us" appeared.
So I ring only be told that there will be no delivery today as there isn't a machine to deliver (no stock, despite stock on Friday) and should be with us tomorrow between 7am - 7pm.
Cut a long story short I just rung customer services again and lodged a complaint telling them I wasn't happy with the service. Got a reference number from the helpful guy.
Now my question is can I demand some sort of financial compensation or will it be a waste of time and effort?
In the meantime have to go over the in-laws to get a pile of washing done!
Thanks
TMH
