Xmas eve

Ok folks, after some ideas.

Background is i have the last grandchild who believes in father Xmas.

Last year despite them going to bed their g parents decided to pop in around tea time, they left at midnight mass. I was not happy. (Not mad... Just meant that I could not go to bed with kids so shattered next day). They always went out with a couple who are now divorced.

Now this year, they popped in tonight so in preparation asked so no repeat of last year.

I can jiggle 'our' bits to earlier but I after ideas for a simple yet exciting buffet ideas without going to Iceland for when they come round!

make a big pot of soup, or get some bacon or sausages in, and make cobs up for your family when they pop round?

Thanks for the ideas. I might do some broth and dumplings. My girls hate it so least I can make a pot and it will get eaten!

Girls want to 'make' cupcakes. I will be allowed to wash up after.

Had to laugh as at school they made their cards for their grandparents, I'm sat thinking they'll bring mine out from hiding. Only to find they'd not made me one!! So christmas is now cancelled. LOL
