First Plus account help and advice wanted..

hi everyone

i'm new to the forum so hoping for help and advice from fellow forum members....

we have a First Plus loan we took out in april 2002 which we have paid on time apart for some arrears problems we had a few years ago
but sorted that part out with them i.e paid more to catch up with what we had missed. in august this year our online bank account with nat west showed that that our august payment to first plus was our final payment.at the time it seemed too early to me but we went to the bank and they confirmed that the payment schedule had finished or had been cancelled they said the instruction must have come from first plus as they nat west can't cancel things like that......so we thought happy days the loan must be over :T with hind site i should have contacted first plus at the time but it seemed right any way four months later we have received a default notice from First Plus i.e pay this before this our you will pay all off what you owe:mad:

was hoping for some advice before i contact them on monday
i want answers from them about
-why the payments where stopped.
-how come it took them 4 months to tell me about it
-and what happens now

any advice or help would be great
to make matters worse i was made redundant at work on Tue
so as you can tell its not been a great start to the Xmas period:(

im sorry forgot to add im thinking of claiming ppi back off my first plus loan having read things in this forum would it be better to sort out this default thing from the post above.. first????
