Very.co.uk - next day delivery ho, ho ho.....

We ordered a Swan Fridge Freezer on 12 December for delivery on 14 December and paid for the pleasure of what they call next day delivery.
We stayed in all day, phoned Very and was told it would be with us but could be up to 9pm. Then online the delivery was amended to 16 December online. My wife stayed in all day, but I am sure you can tell how it is going.
I was away for a couple of days so on return phoned them again on 19 December was told they were unable to get in touch with the courier so would e-mail and I should check the website for an update to shipping time.
On the basis we have a delivery of Xmas food arriving on Sunday I phoned them again today. The first person I spoke to gave me the telephone number of Yodel saying it would be best to contact the courier.
Yodel were actually helpful and pointed out that Very had given the wrong telephone number as it was a large item - and Very would have shipped that via Arrrow Excel as it was a two man delivery (clearly Yodel have a better understanding of Very's operation than Very staff do).
Yodel kindly provided the telephone number of Arrow Excel. I spoke to Arrow Excel and the lady confirmed that Very had booked the delivery for the 23rd December and it had never been booked for an earlier delivery, and they were unable to meet an earlier option.
I phoned Very back, who were at their normal level of professionalism - completely unhelpful, other than saying the delivery would be on the 23rd (which I had just old them), if I had been charged next delvery they refund (the person didn't seem to know) and apologising for the confusion...
Now they either Very incompetent OR I suspect more likely gaming it getting orders in on promised delivery times and just getting the couriers to do as and when......
A completely useless company who wouldn't know service if fell on them like a piano from the sky.

The Carry On company continues..........
We have just phoned Very to cancel the order. We can't cancel it as its been shipped as their 'system' won't allow it - but we can return it.............

Ordered one from Next last night - its here now. now to work my way through the Very Carry On to get a refund.0
