I work in a school and I am paid by the council.
I did some extra hours over summer and finally got paid for them in November wage. But just looked at my payslip for this month and they're on my payslip again so I am going to be paid for them again! School and council HR office are now closed for weekend/Christmas.
When they are open again I am going to rectify this however I was taxed at BR rate just for these additional hours so instead of being paid £460 I will get paid £299. My question is will the council expect me to return £460 or will I just return £299?
Thanks

It should all come out in the wash . Just put the overpayemt somehwere safe - don't spend it - janaury is a long month, and your janaury pay will be decrease by whatever extra was in your bank in December, so you will be pleased if you haven;t spent it0
