Thank you for taking the time to write this for me, its very kind of you!!
It sounds like such good fun and I bet you were smiling writing it!
Half an hour with an electric whisk, i'm glad i've got my trusty Kenwood. I don't know where I would be without it.
Lol at your rum essence. I don't like alcohol tastes, or alcohol for that matter so I will not be trying that.
If it wasn't raining I think I may have nipped up to Tesco now for the bits I need. I don't fancy the rush tomorrow.. ugh!0 -
Liquid glucose works well in place of corn syrup. Otherwise in Tesco in the American bit, light Karo syrup will do the trick. Hope that helps!'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'0

Thank you.
I'm going to do a mix of a few different recipes to start with, have a look what I like!
I have been doing the 5-2 diet recently but that will go out of the window once I start making these ha ha!0 -
Ocado sells corn syrup as well.
Why did you not want to use egg whites?0 -

OP explains the reason in their first post - basically a lack of eggs (to the quality they like to buy them)0 -
Krlyr is spot on. I used to keep a few hens myself and they were like little doggies with their individual personalities. I vowed never to buy eggs unless I could see the hens running about playing and being free. The farm I buy from is struggling to keep up with demand in the winter so eggs are too be used sparingly!
Not only that, I look at the american marshmallow and it looks identical to ours so it seems the egg whites could be a step not needed, just like some people put an egg in scones, I don't see the need.
I will take a picture when I make some... if they are good enough!0
