Not totally true. Everyone I know gets sick pay and they are not in management. Depends who you work for. None or the people I know work in the public sector either.
All my friends get sick pay and are in the private sector and not in management. It would be unusual not to get sick pay to me.0 -

Sick pay is only ever in the public services. You won't get it in the private sector unless you're in management. Get a council or civil service job and you'll get sick pay.
Never had a decent holiday allowance. 20 days seems to be the norm. The civil service are pretty good for that though, 25 days starting and then privilege days (oh and some depts offer 1/2 day off for xmas shopping too).
You'll never get all 4 in one job though.
I've received all of them at most of the companies I have worked for...and all have been private sector and only one was senior management.
In my last role, we received bi annual bonuses (one in the summer, another in December), a Christmas party, a kids Christmas party, sick pay paid at full salary rate for 20 weeks and after two years of service, an extra day holiday per year worked up to a maximum of 5 extra days and an annual increase in salary.
I was working part time and not management although I was a senior member of the team, however, we all received the same.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Its an odd one this, its random as to who gets what, I know our office staff are treated better than us, I don't know if they got an Xmas bonus, but they did have a staff outing on the last day, they also get things like bank holidays off, sick pay not sure but wouldn't be surprised.0

If you want to be geeky you could look at the motivational theorists ideas on this which is effectively that some things are motivators (ie if you have them you put effort in but if you dont have them then it isnt much of a negative) and other things are hygiene factors (ie if you don't have them then its a massive negative but if you have it in excess it doesnt really motivate you too much)
Salary is actually considered a hygiene factor and so arguably even if the salary isnt great that doesnt mean that other aspects of the organisation are automatically going to be bad and their staff not engaged/ motivated.
Of cause, situations can be manipulated to give the view that they are a better place to work but if it is or isnt actually is questionable. I did one piece of work once to help a company reduce its turnover rate of staff. Before I started you did 4 weeks training and then the team was broken up and put into existing teams. There were only 2 grades of Advisor & Senior Advisor. We changed it so that after the 4 weeks you went into a nursery group until you were hitting targets and changed from 2 grades to 5 grades. Salaries were the same, number of jobs were the same but the fact there were smaller steps means people move up a grade more frequently even if there were only ever 2 grade 5s per team just as before there were only ever 2 Senior Advisors per team.0 -
I've only ever received sick pay in one job - prior to 2008 when it was then stopped, I was grateful I got to turn sick days into holiday if it was needed
We had xmas parties in hospitality.. no-one wanted to attend though and it was usually forced attendance and tired after serving everyone else (I liked this years one the Call Centre had on BBC3 was as close as it got! only wish our parties could have been like that!)
Received bonus once due to the amount of business I brought in one christmas and which also saved me from disciplinary procedings come new year
Pay rises, Always to come in line with NMW to give one thing it's due
Better holidays allowance - nah never! used to consider myself lucky if the boss wasn't planning when I was going to take them to
Even in higher paid job later on - it was still SSP (not that it bothered me) and well we arranged to do stuff ourselves each payin in - so even though it looks like it is on the company, it isn't always the case - and you don't half miss it when it's gone
Company benefits to me are more parking without the added expense, training & development and if overtime is allowed0 -
Although my pay is well above the NMW, I am considered to be on a low pay for my qualifications (registered SW), however my job is hands on, and compared to my colleagues working in statutory practice, I get a lot more job satisfaction and I have a supportive line manager. I love my job and I am not planning to go in to statutory social work until my DD starts school

I work in Private sector and everyone gets full sick pay. I don't know the minor details as I've never had to call upon it.0 -

Even heating would be a welcomed perk at the moment. OK firms don't need to supply anything bar the minimum by law but by doing something it shows that you are looked after at least by the company rather than being treated as just a number, and surely its bound to help workplace moral? I know the atmosphere in my firm is horrible, and the number 1 topic of conversation among workers is how much they hate the place.
Many workplaces extend the same perks to all staff. Admin for example isn't generally well paid, but admin at a professional services firm will usually come with all those perks because they're expected by the revenue generating staff.0 -

Christmas bonus or works party Bonus is hit/miss. Dependent on how boss feels. This year was £25 pounds, year before was about £100 dependent on staff performance. We have to pay for christmas party, although last year it was paid for.
Annual pay rises Minimum wage goes up every year - they pass it off as a pay rise. TBF, we get few pennies (10p-40p) above NMW (should count myself lucky I'm told)
