Real-life MMD: Should I cough up to avoid cheap seats at the theatre?

We went to see the new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical yesterday for £25 from lastminute.com which included a pizza meal beforehand and we were upgraded to the stalls and loved the show.,a great night out.
Just try the cheaper option and you never know,0 -
The cheaper seats are at the back and closer to the very inadequate toilets (especially the Ladies) in all West End theatres so go for the cheaper seats and you won't still be queueing for the loo at the end of the interval when the next act is about to start !:rotfl:0

Try http://www.getintolondontheatre.co.uk - they do cheaper seats Jan-March for lots of the top shows. Although first price seats are not included, second price seats are. Worth considering.
Otherwise - either pay the difference so's your brother can come with you, go for the cheap seats yourself, or don't go. Simples.0 -
Just go cheap, it won't hurt you.0

Easy peasy! I go to the theatre on my own sometimes - once the performance has started, it doesn't actually matter who you sit beside. Just agree the performance time/date, book your own, preferred seats, have a meal beforehand and drink together :beer:in the interval - you will both pay for what you want and at the end of the day - the fact that you didn't sit together simply won't matter!:rotfl:0

putting money on the lottery to pay for better seats is like with any gambling not a good idea. the odds are way against you unless you get the jackpot ( more chance odds wise for the computer you are using to blow up in next 30 seconds!). You will be even more out of pocket.
Ether tell your brother you will meet him at interval to discuss play…. or pay for the difference in seats tell him changed your mind/cant go or whatever. Better than family argument or resentment. The richard montgomery matter0 -
I'm really struggling with the fact that you're even asking this question.
I can only go by how I feel about my own brother but in a similar situation I'd pay for his blasted ticket and tell him he could repay me by buying me a drink in the interval. That way he would feel he'd contributed and we'd both have a brilliant night out.
What you're talking about is a wonderful night out with someone you love. Surely that's worth a few Shekels more.
Please do reach an agreement with your brother that you're both happy with, and do have an amazing night out. It'll be a bonding experience for both of you, please don't ever underestimate the value of that.0 -
You choose the seat you want and your brother does exactly the same and everyone is happy. You do not need to sit next to each other as you do not talk during the performance anyway and you just meet at the bar in the interval for a drink with the money saved on both sides. I have chosen separate seats in the past sometimes purely on the better view and I do not see why adults can't sit apart for about 45 minutes. Unless your brother is a minor, I do not see a problem. :beer:0

Easy - just sit separately. You can travel together, drink and eat together and meet up in the interval. You won't be talking during the show - will you????
My wife and I have had to do this once or twice when booking late - and it's no problem.0
