A beautiful thoughtful gift

My DD came home from school today with gifts from friends. They are in the final year of sixth form so all 17/18 and the one friend who made my DD a Christmas gift that was home made apologised! She said she hadn't very much money so had bought those that wouldn't appreciate home made a bought gift but 3 friends she knew who would appreciate it she made these for.....
I think this is a beautiful idea, so thoughtful and kind and I am going to use it for inspiration next year. I am just stunned firstly that she apologised for making it and secondly felt she had to buy presents for 'friends' that wouldn't appreciate the thought that had gone into it!
I am so proud of my DD for being the wonderful human being she has turned into as she said it is the best gift ever!

What a lovely homemade gift, I love presents like this.0

I too would have been over the moon with this, she also baked a few cookies for friends who would accept home made gifts and DD said they were lovely.
Just a shame some of the other friends wouldn't have been happy with it, my DD was going to make the sweet sleigh's for them all but knew a few of them would make fun of it being home made or really ungrateful. Aren't people funny, they think spending money shows how good a friend you are and wouldn't consider anything home made to have any value at all.0 -
Both your daughter and her friend sound like very thoughtful and kind girls indeed. X0

it's obvious that a lot of time, thought and love went into making that gift, it's lovely. I'd be happy to receive that as my only present.
Luckily our family doesn't go in for spending mega-bucks for Christmas. We enjoy a big family meal then sit at the table all afternoon chatting - we are all too busy to get together like this the rest of the year.
My sister and I are crafters and love making presents and cards.0
