  • Santa with Muscles starring a very young Hulk Hogan has been showing on Movie Mix recently and it's dire... although oddly entertaining in a way that anything with the Hulkster in it is...

Still not my fave though which is Elf!!! Saaaaaannnnntttaaaaaaa....

Our absolute favourite is We're No Angels with Humphrey Bogart, Peter Ustinov and Aldo Ray. Also Basil Rathbone and Leo G. Carroll. It was made in 1954 and I wish it was on T.V. every year. Good job we've got the video and dvd. :D

  • My favourite is 'Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence' starring David Bowie. Not everyone's idea of a Christmassy film but well worth watching.
  • I think the most moving christmas film I have seen has to be The Christmas Tree, if you have never seen it all I can say is have plenty of tissues available, you will cry with sadness, gladness, happiness and just pure sentimentality. Its so moving and beautifully made.

Love Actually is my favourite Christmas movie.

Other than that OH and I try to pick out movies with Christmassy bits which aren't out and out Christmassy.

For example, in one of the Bourne movies, there's a scene in which Bourne and German girl arrive at her ex's house which is decorated for Christmas. There's another scene in same/other Bourne movie with Christmas lights in Paris in background.

That way we get action movie with sprinkling of Christmas rather than pure sugar.

  • So pleased A Christmas Carol won.........odd title as there aren't any carols in the folm, aside fro murchins carol singing (briefly) ...... did u see the "colourised" version on Channel 5 last month? They did a fab job !

  • If you check IMDB, the font of all internet movie knowledge, it lists nearly a dozen movies released through the ages called "A Christmas Carol" who knows which one of those dozen people are voting for.

Oh and whoever didn't vote for "It's a Wonderful Life" just doesn't understand Xmas ;-)
