Temporary rent

I have a deposit for a house. I have made two offers but none accepted as of yet. I would like to find somewhere to live between now and when I exchange contracts. I currently live at home with parents and have done for two years.
I don't want to commit to a contract. Everywhere I look requires a six/twelve month commitment. Is there anywhere you can rent on a temporary basis e.g. give one weeks notice? Am I being unrealistic?

Rent-a-room? Live with the no-hopers? What's wrong with staying at home for a little while longer?

Plenty of people want lodgers.
https://www.spareroom.co.uk (for example)
I know someone who has used this site for the past 5 years to find places to live temporially. Appears to work well.0 -
Are you paying a 'commercial' rent to your mum and dad?
