'Enforcement Administration Officer'

Hi all,

My husband has seen this job online working for the court service. Can anyone tell me what the chuff that bloated title actually means?

From what I gather, it's a Bailiff....but not a Bailiff, like an in-house admin officer who deals with taking money off people at the front desk, but some of the phrases in the advert make me wonder, such as under duties there is, "Collection of financial impositions imposed by the court."

Google only brings up other job adverts when I put it in, so can anybody shed some light?

  • Yeah your thinking along right lines, enforcement means bailiff involvement

I recently tried again as Usher/Admin role seemed gobbledygook - I know assessment questions during online MOJ application were horrid! really testing but then I think to much into things, but don't half think that will be a no again

The court will order people to pay financial penalties including costs, fines and compensation. The court also collects the payments for these penalties.

I would imagine that, as you say, it will be a job involving the receipt of the payments from the people paying them, and/or dealing with the paperwork relating to these payments.

It may therefore be a customer-facing role which involves being able to deal with a range of people in various degrees of anxiety if they can't pay all their money or are cross at doing so.

As an administration officer I wouldn't immediately assume it is bailiff work at peoples' houses.
