Wonga Refused Loan?
Comments
-
Well done Wonga! They have done you a favour by not letting you borrow money at ridiculous rates and getting yourself into financial trouble.
(By the way, Wonga don't want you to pay of their loans early. They want you to get into trouble, so you have to take out another loan, and then pay more fees and interest. Their business model is based on that.)
Thinking of it I realise they have done me a favour, I am glad they turned me down! :jNational_Debtline wrote: »That's the spirit

Thanks David, made the mistake, not going down that route again! :eek:jonesMUFCforever wrote: »I wonder if OP will now apply to anyotherpaydayloan.com for a loan and come back in a few days when brokerage fees are debited to the account?
Not a chance, there is no way I would go to another PDL company!tippingpoint wrote: »I agree with many of the comments on here - this is certainly a blessing.
I let myself fall into a classic payday loan trap and it took me years (and untold £) to eventually get out of it. Please don't let the fact that these businesses advertise in the mainstream and sponsor sports clubs / TV shows fool you into thinking that they are dealing in anything pleasant. They pitch themselves as helping you get out of a tight spot, but it's akin to eating your own body parts to satiate your hunger.
It's difficult to convey the years of sleepless nights, painful anxiety and hair loss I experienced as a result of letting myself think that payday loans were a quick fix.
Please take this refused loan as some form of divine intervention, and steer well clear of Wonga et al.
Thank you, I will! I've been in debt previously (some years back now) and I don't wish to find myself going down that route again! 2014 New Year's Resolution, stick to a budget! :TRuthnJasper wrote: »The sharks saw Chief Brody and Quint heading towards them in an unwisely-small boat...?
Seriously though, Twisted Cherry, please (however hard it is) don't fall further into the jaws of these people. Get onto http://www.stepchange.org/ or http://www.payplan.com/ - or join a credit union - these are organisations that can help you properly without kicking you hard in the wallet to benefit themselves. I know (trust me, I know) it isn't easy - but if you don't stop the PDL spin-cycle now it'll only be worse in the longer-term.
Wishing you all the best. x
Thank You! :wave:Looks like Wonga had a LBM..
No, but I certainly did!~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Thanks everyone for your comments, Wonga did do me a huge favour... No intention of applying to them again, they can shove there pay day loan someone where the sun don't shine! I found myself in this trap because of my own stupidity, I planed a short two day break away for next year - got caught up in the excitement of not being away for over two years, and since then I have been playing catch up with bills etc. Learnt my lesson!

Cherry, without meaning to sound in the least bit trite or patronising - well done you. :j
It's a horrible thing to face; but you are writing sense. Hold on to that, and to what you have written, and you won't go far wrong.
You owe it to yourself not to fall into the PDL trap - hard to resist, I know, but a d*mned-sight bl**dy harder to crawl out of the pit once they've got you.
Don't forget that if you are having a weak and/or desperate moment there are plenty of threads on this forum devoted to support, morale-boosting and sensible basic practical advice. Look here first before turning to the hollow promises offered by PDL companies. It won't be easy in the short-term - but you WILL get there. You haven't done anything stupid, or anything to make you a bad person, by using PDL companies - there's no shame in being desperate and scared. But there are so many other avenues to explore before you put your faith in what are, essentially, loan sharks with the very thinnest veneers of legality.
I hope you have a fantastic Christmas too, and a brilliant new year. Keep smiling!

It's a mistake I made too. The site's been invaluable for me on a number of counts. I'm not out of the woods quite yet myself, but the trees are thinning and I can see shafts of sunlight ahead.
Don't beat yourself up about the past - it's gone and you can't change it. You CAN, however, change your future by acting in the present. It's ugly, nasty, and all too easy to hide from. But it IS (unlike certain shampoo products) worth it.
Keep strong, keep smiling - and you'll make it. You will.0 -
