How easy have you found it to get a current account after bankruptcy?
What banks are likely to accept you?
Do you have to take in a certificate of discharge?

Do you have to take in a certificate of discharge? its a little hit & miss some will ask for the official court cert (around £65 or so) or some are happy with a letter from the receivers office that dealt with your bankruptcy
I asked co-op & barclays after discharge and then after 6yrs both declined a full account...in the end Nat West Agreed BUT it's no guarantee what one person gets another will

I have a current account with Barclays, I think I got it sorted about 8-10 months ago. I was BR in 2006 and got basic accounts with Barclays and the coop a year or so later so maybe being with them a while helped. I didn't have to provide discharge certs but I have sent copies of mine to all 3 credit agencies who have taken it off my record completely.0

Hello there,
You should be able to obtain a basic bank account once you are discharged. The vast majority of banks have a basic offering - which are not actually that 'basic'. You'll be able to use direct debits and most give you a debt card of sorts these days.
I hope you find this information useful.

Once you're discharged you should be OK to open a basic account.
Are you on the electoral role?

Online applications rely on the record [and trigger point] the computer is set to.
Better to apply by phone [especially with Co-op] and demand an appeal to the decision. No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0
