HI there, if you are declared bankrupt and then a few months later decide you want to become self employed (selling items on Ebay), what wopuld you do? would you have to declare it to the OR?? would they want to see all your new bank statements, invoices etc or would they just want to know how much you make?
not sure whether to do it now or start after my bankruptcy has finished, amny thanks

Quite simply, you are obliged to let the OR know about all changes in income, up or down until discharge0

Quite true - you must inform OR within 21 days of any changes. However, there is nothing at all to stop you becoming self-employed during your bankruptcy period.
If your earnings will drop, by becoming self-employed, then perhaps it is better to do it now, as the reduced level of earnings will affect any IPA/IPO that you have.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
