Fridge Re-Gas

Options
Hi All

My son has an American style fridge freezer which I'm told needs re-gassed or has a blockage.
Does anyone know of any repairers who could do this please?
Banbridge area if that makes a difference.

TIA

The make would be helpful but there is a crowd from Newry who do a lot of repairs for manufacturers. Be aware they do have a £65 callout charge but they told me they do most repairs in an hour or less and the £65 covers this but not parts.

Usually with such appliances there is only one option...

I know what you're saying but re-gassing a fridge isn't a huge thing. Why it needs re-gassed is an issue however. Has the gas leaked out? In which case the leak will have to be repaired first.

If it's an American style fridge, some of which are very expensive, it could certainly be an economic repair in my opinion. Is it worth paying £65 to the OP to find out though - that's the question?
  • Thanks for the replies.

At over £1500 for a new one I certainly think it's worth a try for the sake of £65.

I know the reason for needing regassed is an issue. but I'm told it
can take years for a minute leak to manifest itself as an appliance failure.

Probably give it a go and keep the fingers crossed.

    Merry Christmas all.

Talk to them about the leak. Although I don't know anything about these things it stands to reason they might have a test procedure which can be carried out on site and with the micro leak found they could repair it.
  • Will do GlynD

Hopefully it will turn out OK

    Thanks for your input.
