If you are bankrupt and
if barclays were a creditor included in the barclay card (in a loan, not their credit card)
do they usually offer credit cards to ex bankrupts ? (as they offer a basic account to them)
do they :
a) offer a barclaycard to the ex bankrupt customer, after the discharge period ?
b) offer a barclaycard 6 years after the bankruptcy, (after it completly removed from your credit file)
do they usually offer credit cards to ex bankrupts ? (as they offer a basic account to them)
are you speaking from experience ?

Barclays or any other credit card provider, are unlikely to offer credit cards to bankrupts until their discharge period is over and they some past payment history.
They and other banks provide basic bank accounts, because the last government told them to, as they want every person to be able to have a bank account, whether that be to pay benefits into or have a DD for council tax etc.
The banks don't make money on basic accounts and only do it because they are told to. Providing credit to someone who may not pay it back (or statistically is less likely to), carries a risk, which is why they don't offer it.
No, I'm not speaking from experience.0 -

Yes...bankrupt 2006...and as RH said it's VERY difficult to obtain mainstream cards only options for now till you build a good credit file history after discharge would be the sky high APR cards (vanquis etc..)Not quite a newbie as you think

Thank you phil
any future cards would be used for credit repair purposes.
Which cards are there, for people with bad credit ratings?
Can you list all of the common ones please

vanquis...capital one
both these are a good start although VERY high APR 40% plus sometimes..if you did end up with one of these then make sure EVERY month its paid off in full..Not quite a newbie as you think

This is the point, and how to turn 40% APR, to 0% APR equivalent, by paying in full.
