Student needing a short term loan!

Hi,
I'm a full time HE student and have my next payment due in january for student loan.
However, i've just put renting a house in motion and asked to move in january (after the payment) but they have asked us to move in this week and want deposit and months rent up front (understandable). I have half of this as i'm quite good with my money but desperately need the other half (£695) by Thursday! Can anyone offer any advice on where to go? I have just passed credit check to get the house but for some reason my bank wont let me have an overdraft. Very confused and worried i will now be homeless over Christmas.
Any advice or help would greatly appreciated.

Why will you be homeless over Christmas? You wanted to move in during January.

Don't let them bully you, the landlord wants rent over Christmas, good luck to him finding a tenant now, tell them you will move in when you are ready in January

I'm also confused why you would be homeless over Xmas if you can't find the extra money you need. As Apples says just stay where until next month.

Time to hit the brakes. Needing a considerable short-term loan in a major hurry with no income is the beginning of a very bad road. You don't have the money. You can't get the money (and if you could, it would be a poisonously bad loan). Tell the landlord you'll move in January, and if he doesn't like it, go find another.

You have had problems in the past paying back money and now you want to borrow again without any income.

  • Explain your cash flow issue to the LL or LA and say you'll pay in January when you move in.

Most universities and colleges have a fund available to students in financial difficulties so it might be worth speaking to someone at the student union of finance department.

Overdraft on your student account would be the most obvious solution. (If you haven't maxed it out already, that is..............)
