Hi guys,
I'm totally new here and I'm finding it difficult to talk about some serious issues I'm having at work due to my disability. Is there any method I can post where it's more private? Can i pm someone whom can help me?
...I know you must be wondering why I don't want to post here, but the reason is that many people at my workplace know and use this site regularly and the issues i'm having are very personal which I fear may point back to me.

If you want private advice you should speak to a solicitor or ACAS.0

I think nobody is answering because it's a difficult one to answer - because you probably won't like the answer. You are making mistakes. The employer has concerns that you cannot hack it. They have asked OH for an opinion (the right thing to do), and whether you like the additional training you are getting or not, you asked for additional training and you are getting it. You are making mistakes and you cannot make mistakes - it is not undue pressure to point out that you are making mistakes and that your continued employment depends upon you not making these mistakes. That is the purpose of a probationary period - for anyone, whether they have a disability or not. They took you on knowing full well that you had a disability, when they could easily have found a good reason not to take you on (and lots of employers do, because no matter what the law says it is rather easy to discriminate if an employer wants to - they just say you failed the interview on other grounds).
I think you need to stop looking for reasons why they are discriminating against you and focus on not making mistakes. If you make fewer mistakes they will have less to comment on and then you won't feel as pressured about things.0 -
Thank you marybelle01 for your honest opinion. Maybe I was being a bit hasty on thinking like that and I take what you say on board. I just feel like such a failure in not doing things as I should and want to do well at work.0
