Getting a mortgage with a CCJ :(

Hi, me and my partner were today turned down for a mortgage by the Halifax because I have a CCJ from 5 years ago. Both our credit reports are good otherwise.
Is there anything we can do to get a mortgage in the meantime or do I need to wait until this drops off my report in a years time? We have £8,000 deposit and were hoping to get £128,000 mortgage. Thanks

I also have a CCJ on my credit file (£165 settled for a water bill that I forgot to pay! - was just over 5 years old at time of mortgage application)

Anyway, we also applied for a mortgage with Halifax back in April/May for £134k and they only accepted us based on 15% deposit.

Not the best interest rate either at 4.24% fixed for two years.

How much was the amount at the time, what was the date of registration?

At 94% loan to value, £128k on £136k, I do not fancy your chances.

Sorry, I read the LTV after the bit about the CCJ. 95% = squeeky clean only.
