Fixed rate mortgage recommendations

Hi, just after a bit of advice really, me and my partner are looking at a mortgage of about £48,000. We have chosen the fixed rate mortgage option and was wondering whats the best ones around at the current time. Ive checked the best buy tables but we really want a low product fee and some seem to be £1000+. Just to add to that, we are looking for a fixed rate in the region of 5.6%-5.9% over 2,3, or 5 years. Any recommendations?

You wont get advice and recommendations here. The board is not regulated to give financial advice on mortgages and those of us that are able to give advice cannot do so as it isnt possible to give advice based on a couple of lines in a post and still remain compliant.

The best you will get is a opinion and comment and discussion. If you act on "advice" from the board you will have no protection under the FOS.

If your still looking after that then you may well want to see what a (no fees) whole of the market financial adviser has to offer.

Ring up London and Country, for advice its free and read Martin's guide.
Also look at Halifax 2 yr fix either 5.44/5.49? and yes about £1k in fees but is being withdrawn soon.

Personally after reading around people are saying maybe a capped is better so you take advantage if rate does drop during your term.(Rugby and Hinkley)
