Porting mortgage, now at uni.

• I have a 65k mortgage on a property worth 91k which I have had for over three years
• no issues with payments, v. good credit rating, around 30k capital with same bank
• went back to uni to study medicine this September in a different city
• Is there any way I can sell my house and port my mortgage as I am now a student?
• Are there any options such as guarantors etc?
• I own a BTL property (around 60k) mortgage free - would this make a difference or is it all based on income?

You port the rate from the old mortgage to a new one, if you qualify. You do not transfer the mortgage from one property to another and all new income and status checks are carried out.

With no income, you will not qualify for a new mortgage, so you'll have nothing to port to...
