I was discharged in June, (as it shows on my credit file)..
I never received any letter confirming this.
I went into natwest and they said in order to open a current account if i am discharged bankrupt, they need to see a letter confirming this..
How on earth do i get one??

Discharge is automatic....hence , no letters are sent out.
For written confirmation [why on earth a bank cannot check for themselves, I don't know?}....either write to your Official Reciever, and ask for written confirmation of Discharge...or, contact your Court, who will provide similar, but at a considerable cost. No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -

Thank you for your e-mail to the Insolvency Enquiry Line.
Please provide the following information:
1) Your current and previous address
2) Date of Birth
3) National Insurance number
4) Bankrupt number of what year and what court
I will then able to provide you with written confirmation of your discharge from bankruptcy.

one thing to bear in mind as well Barclays Bank can be a pain in the rear in 6+ years of bankruptcy they are the only bank that insist on an official court discharge cert (£65 or so..free on certain benefits though) never had an issue with other banks....weirdNot quite a newbie as you think

Its free if you email that email i provided above. Spoke to natwest and they require a certificate of discharge to open a current account too. Barclays womt accept me either way now because i accrued debt with them after my bankruptcy.0
