Who would be the best company/person to approach with an ok credit rating?

As above does anyone have any ideas of who to approach with an OK credit rating?

Am I better trying my own bank, A Broker or an independent?

thanks in advance.

Hi, you need a broker for sure. You do not have an ok credit rating, as there is no such thing.

You have old defaults with a rationale (as per other thread) and therefore highly likely you will require a 15% deposit.

This is unlikely to be mainstream, but as advised all 3 copies of your credit files will be essential.

A recommended broker is always better, although you need one that is experienced with the types of lenders that are likely to be required.

Maybe have a free chat with a few, but do expect to pay a fee and additionally do not tell them you have an ok credit rating. Tell them your situation and if they do not ask for your credit files immediately, then have a chat with another.

Ignore the numbers / scores or the 'paraphrasing' from the credit reference agencies.

These are completely irrelevant to how a lender will view you.

(As you were advised in your previous thread).
