For MPPI they will ask a basic set of questions at the outset. If there is something you specifically want to cover against then its best checking with the insurer beforehand to ensure there are no nasty surprises when you most need it.
This is one of the downfalls when compared to PHI. PHI has thorough underwriting at application stage.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. It is rare for any insurance application on any product to ask your full medical history. Normally, it is recent things and major things. For example, having your appendix out when you were 8 is not going to be something you need to disclose.
Just because MPPI doesnt ask the same questions as other income insurances, does not mean you will be covered. MPPI is effectively underwritten at point of claim. Whereas PHI is underwritten at point of sale. So, you are not left with unpleasant surprises. If you have a chequered medical history, MPPI would not get around this just because it doesnt ask the same level of questions.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). So if your PAYE it would also be best to go for phi... rather than mppi? and also a seperate policy for unemployment. ?0
