Miele or Bosch dishwasher?

Our dishwasher has finally died, it's a Bosch and quite old so I know today's models aren't as good.
Been looking at a Bosch 40c12GB - £380 with extra warranty (5yr)
Or Miele G4210, £450 with extra warranty.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

We had a Miele from near the bottom of their range, and had several problems with it. It's now been replaced with a Bosch, which is very good.
A major issue with the Miele was that no independent appliance repair people would touch it, so we had to have the Miele engineer each time - very expensive. I know our local repair person would attend to the Bosch if need be.0 -
Oh dear I am confused!!:o
Marmaduke which Bosch one do you have and was the Miele one recent?
Thanks;)
I am hoping that the extra warranty will cover is should repairs arise in either case.0 -
The Bosch is an Aquastar 6.5 L which is exactly two years old now, so may not be a current model. We got 3 years warranty and cash back at the time.
The previous Miele lasted for 9 years before we decided not to spend any more money on it. It broke down three times before its final problem. The dishwasher before that lasted about twelve years, I can't remember what make it was.
It's all the luck of the draw really, you might get a good one or a bad one I suppose. I have been told the cheaper Mieles aren't in the same league as the expensive ones, and ours was towards the bottom of their range. The thing that really hacked us off was that no-one except Miele would touch it, and they took a long time to come out and had a very high callout charge. Our local appliance repair man would have come the same day or the next day.
The Bosch does a much better job than our Miele did too!0 -
To be honest our current one is a cheap and cheerful entry level Bosch.
There are so many mixed reviews on both machines that I don't know where to start. Thanks for the reply.0 -
Miele, every time. The Bosch we had was a nightmare - never again.0

I've had a Miele for 8 years without any problems. It saw out it's 5 year warranty without any bother at all.
I don't use it all that much, I only put it on once every 3 to 4 days.
My previous one, which was a creda and came with the kitchen, also didn't have a problem in the 5 years I had it.
Not the absolute bottom end Miele, it cost me about £500 all those years ago.0 -
Miele .... I've had mine for about 4 years, and use it on average about 3 times a day, sometimes more, and so far it hasn't let me down, washes well, and has a variety of useful programmes.
The cutlery tray is a bit OCD, but once you get used to it, it is just as quick (and more room for crockery etc).0
