Hello Fellow Mse'rs
I have tried Aldi a few times over the years and have always been pleasantly surprised by the quality of their food stuffs, I noticed their advert on the television the other day for their Christmas pudding and also some fantastic looking mince pies, I have in the past tried to get things from Aldi on the run up to Christmas only to find them constantly sold out, is this the case this year or have they finally figured out they need more stock?
Thanks in advance

Lots of both in my store today, plus some recommended wines. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
That is good news
I will pop into town tomorrow and see what they have, I remember in previous years making trip after trip trying to get their chocolate reindeer's and their special version of Baileys, I was miffed to say the least after 3 or 4 attempts.
Thanks for the replies I shall check them out tomorrow."You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0 -
Availability in general is a big problem for Aldi (and to be honest all other supermarkets)
For example I wouldn't leave it till next Monday / Tuesday to get the Super6 stuff as they often sell out well in advance. My local Aldi has also already run out of all but the very big or very small frozen turkeys.0 -
A few weeks ago I read that 3 of ALDI Christmas pud varieties had been rated 1st (£3.89), 2nd (£9.99) and 4th (£7.99) by Good Housekeeping. On visiting the store there was no sign of the one rated 1st. Only 2nd and 4th so I bought a £7.99 one as the cheapest of the top 4 that was available. I have been back several times since but have never seen the one rated 1st in stock.
On the same day that I bought the pud there was a large pile ALDI "Specially Selected" Mince Pies which had been rated 1st by Which?. I took just one box to be going on with. I have never seen them in stock since.
I understand that there would be a lot of demand for these items but I haven't even seen spaces on the shelves for where these items have recently sold out. It just seems that they have never come back into stock.
There are plenty of pies and puds available just not the ones that I have been looking for.0 -
I've said it before and I'll say it again - Aldi's top ranking mince pies are nowhere to be found.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hmm, having just tried one I'm not very impressed. They seem to contain some brandy which rather spoils them.Stompa0 -
Thanks for all your replies, I did get as far as Aldi this morning but there was a huge queue just to get a parking space, now as someone who thinks it is ludicrous that I walk around a supermarket faithfully filling my trolley to then have to queue at a till there was NO way I was waiting for a parking space!
I will spin past again another day if it is the same then Morrisons will do this yearI usually make my own cake and pudding in Spetember and faithfully feed it with cognac every week, just didn't have time this year, oh well we will see

There were loads of mince pies in my local Aldi yesterday so I grabbed some since they're the only ones I've found that I like. Sundays are a good day to find low stock items as they don't open until 10 so you can be there at opening time without getting up early.0

I have finally found the holy grail of mince pies, and very nice they are too. :T:T:T
I think the brandy adds to them, and the pastry is nice and dry, no soggy bottoms. I had to travel to Romford, mind. So my quest was not without riskValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
