Secret santa for someone I don't know

Options
Hi all,

Been thrown a curveball and received an email advising the there will be a secret santa for the work Xmas do (received on fri, party on wed). My person is a lady totally unknown to me (not been in company long and she is at a diff site). So I'm lost as I can't make an educated guess as all I know is she is about 30. Any safe ideas for about a tenner??

Thanks everyone.

What about a fancy Christmas Tree or room ornament? Marks have some lovely ones in.
    Bauble

    Tealight Holder
  • Was also going to suggest a tasteful Christmas decoration. She can keep it for years and IMO that shows some actual thought has gone into the gift.

    And now the final frame

i agree with a really nice christmas ornament, i'd be happy with a good scented candle too - for a tenner you can get lovely ones, and its better than spending a tenner on tat :).

    Thanks for the posts everyone.

I'm wanting to stay away from anything too explicitly Christmas as I don't know what faith she follows (sorry should have mentioned that). I'm liking the candle suggestion, maybe with some colourful groovy gloves or something. My wife thinks a funky nail polish set from we saw but I'm not sure.....

I think gloves is a nice safe bet, almost everyone wears gloves in winter and you can get some lovely ones. A scarf would work too.

Honestly I think as long as you pick something nice quality and wrap it nicely it doesn't really matter. You're never going to be able to get the perfect gift for someone you've never met.
  • All sorted. Gloves and a candle it is. Thanks to everyone for your advice.

Gloves can be difficult though, unless you go for one size fits all gloves!

I found it difficult choosing the right size for my sister as her hands are a lot smaller than mine!

I'll stick the gift receipt in just in case!
