complaining to student finance?
Hi guys,
i was hoping for some advice on complaining to student finance. They have really messed me around the past couple of years, and this year have pushed me into debt by giving false/incorrect information. (my loan was due in september, still hasn't been paid).
As a result i would like to complain, but i would like to know if anyone has complained in the past, if i should bill them for all the phone calls i have had to make, etc. What result should i expect, or be pushing for? this cannot happen to me again next year, it would cause severe financial troubles for me.
Many thanks for any help.:D

I would have thought the best result would be the loan in your account?
What reason have they given you for not paying?
Have we got the full story?0 -
Regarding the phone calls - don't bother with their expensive number, the geographical one is 01412433600 so no extra charges.
If you say you want to make a complaint you get put through to their Complaints Resolution Unit (or some similar name) and get a named person and direct phone number to get your loan sorted out ASAP.New graduate trying to get debt-free.

thanks for posting that, i had completely forgotten about posting it!
So as stated my parents split in january, i was told in september that i could claim for my mum as a single parent, turns out i can't. I have had to re fill out all the forms, and send them via recorded delivery. The forms have only 'just' been received, despite sending them around a month ago. i have now been told there is a 6 week wait time, which as i said would really mess up my finances. I have also had to call them repeatedly to find out about any progress on my account, as my online account is not being updated. This has led to me spending a fair amount of money on phone calls (o2 has been charging me?) and also on things like recorded delivery, to ensure they don't lose my mums p60 :-(
I have tried emailing my local mp, but they have told me it is an issue they can't deal with.
any help would be much appreciated.0 -
There is a 6 week wait time - enjoy xmas and new year - nothing you do will alter that.
# See you in the new year.0
