Solicitor requested money early from lender

My solicitor has requested money early from my mortgage lender. I recently exchanged on a property, where some additional repair work was required by the seller before completion date. The solicitors have agreed a clause to confirm the repair work is to be completed satisfactorily, and then 5 working days notice to given before completion date - In which time, the money should have been requested from the lender.. For some unknown reason, my solicitor has gone ahead with requesting funds from the lender, even before the repair work has finished! It could be another 3-4 weeks before this work has been completed.. Meanwhile, my mortgage lender has requested first d payment in the first week of January. I haven't been able to get in touch with my solicitor to discuss this, but what can I do in this situation?
