Reasonably priced nail gel xmas gift?

Hi
My mother in law has recently had her nails done professionally with the gel as a gift and I wondered where you might be able to get the gel etc from. Apparently the gel goes on first, then the colour then another layer of something? It's not acrylic or shellac (sorry I have no clue about all this nail stuff) but she has looked into it as she can't afford to keep having it done herself, so my other half thought it would be a nice gift off him for Christmas.
Can anyone help?
Cheers

you will need to buy a starter kit as you need the UV light to set the gel just google gel nail kit0

VintageBelle, don't worry I know exactly what you're talking about! There are quite a few different brands that do them, so you've got quite a lot of options. I don't know what your budget is, but they are fairly pricey.
You'll see some called UV and some LED - they're the same thing just the LED ones are quicker.
If you search for 'Gel Nails Starter Kit' you should find something. This is the sort of kit you need - http://www.johnlewis.com/red-carpet-manicure-gel-polish-pro-starter-kit/p467532?kpid=232120152&s_kenid=5807779a-9fc1-1f48-e2c6-0000175120b5&s_kwcid=ppc_pla&tmad=c&tmcampid=73 (That one only comes with one colour I think though, and they're £12.50 to buy individually - although I have used this brand so can recommend it).
Other brands that I've heard good things about are CND and Gellish. I also saw one a little while ago in Costco if you happen to be near one - I can't remember what brand or how much it was though.
Hope that was helpful!0 -
I have seen one on the shopping channels (QVC is one) called Haute polish I fancy that (it's on my xmas list ) about £65:starmod:If you dance with the devil, the devil don't change. The devil changes you:starmod:0
