Thank you teabody
Fingers crossed!
Quick update:
I've figured out my OP's if I'm to hit my MF goal of 2020.
March - £100
April - £200
May - £200
June - £500
And then £500 every month there after till Oct 2020 (Age 30) 6.9 years.
Is this even possible?!... There's only one way to find out...
Oh, and I finally figured out what Tilly Tidies are! I started today! I had £1.88 interest in my savings account just sitting there, so I rounded my current account down, leaving me with £14.01 TT's
I'm going to do this every Sunday... Instead of using it for OP's, I'm thinking of using it to buy stuff for the house. I really want a bookcase for my office so I can display all my old books. It's £30 in Argos, so I'm aiming for that this month :j Added motivation and all that jazz. Good choice?
Anyway, hope you all had a happy new year! I must get to sleep, work in the morning *sigh*

Hiya,
The overpayment plan looks good! That is totally doable. Well, I imagine that if you start as you mean to go on it will become the norm. Also, if you do need to detour away from overpaying coz something crops up then you can tell yourself how well you are doing!!! Like your tillytidying plan too....you still have to have some pleasure!0 -
I hate how this forum deletes posts half way through
Aw thank you teabody
It's really nice knowing there's another MSE user who thinks my OP plan is achievable! I'm hoping over to your diary after this post to see how you're doing! X
UPDATE: All my bills and mortgage went out today. It's so much better now I have it all leaving on the 1st of every month! These bills are looking less and less scary every month:T Turns out I have an extra £100 in the bank, so I paid mother dearest half of what I owe her. Hopefully it will all be paid off by Jan 31st. Then I can tackle my CC, and then finally start these OP's by Feb :j
I was a little cheeky with work today. On Sunday/Monday I have to travel roughly 300 miles from assignment to assignment (petrol covered by work, 20p per mile). But instead of travelling all the way home for one night, I'm going to stay in a hotel half way between (but not tell work). This usually saves me about £20. But I had a nose around and found a hotel £17 cheaper than what I normally spend! Leaving my total savings at £37ish. :money:That's a nice little addition to my pay packet!
Also, I figured out what NSD's are today and I'm so excited! I already do this, and I'm a pro at it  Atleast two weeks a month are NSD's. I sometimes do 3 weeks, like now! I started on the 29th Dec, and finish on Jan 19th! It's easy to do when I'm working. Not sure if it will be as easy when I change jobs...
Talking about work, I've just been asked to go to Lanzarote for two weeks in Feb, all inclusive with a client!! FOR FREE! I get paid normal rate to support him, and get to enjoy the sunshine too!!! HELLO SUN TAN! Fingers crossed it all goes through! Will have to fork out to get my name changed on my passport though
But so worth it!!! Will know Monday/Tuesday if it's going ahead. It's with a lovely client too. He sang my praises to my boss today, so all in all it's been a good day!
Life is looking positive today :A

a system that is popular here is the idea of paying yourself first, so if you are saving for something/OPing, you take it out at the start of the month, and live the remainder of the month carefully according to what's left (rather than living 30 days of a champagne lifestyle and OPing the pennies that may be left at the end of the month if that makes sense).
free working holiday sounds fab, hope all pans out.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -

I agree with the life assurance. That's something for the future. As for the credit card, the minimum payment is 2%. I'm looking into these 0% cards. I tried the pre-apply eligibility checker on MSE and the only card I can get (with 90%) is the Capital One Classic Complete, which offers 0% balance transfer till May 2014, with a fee of 3% of the amount transferred... I was a bit gutted that this was the only card I can get. It's only for five months. I applied for an Argos card a couple of weeks ago too, and got denied  I think it's because I used the new address on the application, and the previous owners had a huge amount of debt on the property. I know one lot was with British Gas, which I've removed. But god knows what else is still on the property... Anyone know how I go about solving this issue?[/FONT]
Can I just ask-do you have a link to the Capital One Complete Classic card with 0% interest till May 2014?0 -
This is a great diary so far SJ132

Regards "Is this even possible?!" I would say yes, yes it is! In my own experience, that which seemed impossible a year ago is now perfectly achievable, and some of the pie in the sky targets have already been surpassed! It gets under your skin, this mfw business.
MF by 30, you can do it
Good luck! 0
