i read somewhere that once BR, then changing utilitiy providers is not an option, but what about if your credit rating is down the pan(really, really down the pan)? Will i be able to change to a cheaper provider or will they not accept me?
Thanks in advance

If you're going to switch suppliers, you're probably better off changing over before you go BR. A new supplier will do a credit check to see if you can have a standard meter with normal quarterly billing or will need to have a prepayment service of some kind, so they might not say a flat 'no' to you but may say they'll only take you on if you agree to a prepayment scheme. I think also though that it depends on whether you're already using the new supplier for a service - after I went BR, I decided to get my gas supplier to supply my electricity as well, & it was just a formality to sort out the direct debit for my normal meter.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

Personally, I never found it an issue even whilst being bankrupt.0
