Holiday entitlement

Hi guys, hoping someone can help.

I work between 50-60 hours per week over 4 days.

My employer tells me that(and I have read on the gov website)that the legal entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year. Someone who works 4 days is entitled to 22.5 days per year.

I can't seem to get my head round this.

Is this correct?

Yes. As your working days are longer than some people's so are your holiday days.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

In my case, I'm losing out of a number of days because I work a full working week over 4 days. Clearly I'm being stung here, right? 5.6 weeks? 22.5 days?

I repeat, yes it is right. You take 4 days holiday and get a full week off work - I don't.

    I see.

    Many thanks for clarifying that.

Someone working 40 hours over 5 days would get 28 days holiday at 8 hours pay.

Someone working 40 hours over 4 days would get 22.4 days holiday at 10 hours pay.

It's the same amount of holiday in the long run.
