babyliss pro secret curl

Hi, what do people think of these?

OH has offered to buy me one for Christmas but dont know if it will owkr on my hair type

I have very think waist length layered hair that is naturally curly.

however it is difficult to manage and I currently use GHDs to straighten it and occasionnally curl it which I like but takes me ages. I also have a curling iron but again it takes ages

Can anyone do their hair in 10-15 minutes with this? has anyone got similar hair to mine and used one?

thanks

there are 2 models, the Curl Secret says "IMPORTANT! This styler is not designed for use on very long hair and should not be used on hair lengths below the bust." The Pro Perfect Curl is more expensive & a has few more settings, but i'm guessing that info would still apply?

my hair is thick, quite curly at the ends, past shoulder length & with a few layers. i've been toying with the idea of one of these but think i've decided against it as i think i'd have to take really small sections & it would take too long, i haven't got enough patience! i've found that if i put my hair up in a double knot (not too tight) overnight when it's been washed & still damp, i have loads of lovely curls in the morning. 2 mins with the straighteners to tame any unruly bits &, voila, nearly the same result as this.

    How about these?

Am considering getting some myself, although would like to hear if anyone uses them and would recommend them.
There's a few videos on youtube showing people using them, either with wet hair which you then dry or over night with dry hair.

I have just looked at the video and I am sorry but there is no way I would risk using one of them on my hair - I would be terrified that it would go wrong and hair would get caught, if it did how would you get your hair out as the appliance is going to get extremely hot, like straighteners, would you ever put your fingers any where near them!!

I have a set of these, not those ones. mine are a cheap version so my review might not be relevant to the expensive ones.

I found mine very easy to put in, I didn't get on using the hair drier with them I found it worked better when leaving the hair to dry naturally, however sleeping in them is not easy they are very uncomfortable to sleep on. They do work but the problem I had was I didn't buy enough you really need to make sure you get sufficient to do all of your hair.

thanks. I did think they might be uncomfortable to sleep in!
I have heated rollers but my hair is getting to long for them now.

iammumtoone I too would be worried about my hair getting stuck!!

thats the other problem with them, with my hair they some of them were not long enough to cover it all so I just put them on the bottom part of my hair. You can get longer ones but these are more expensive.

edit sorry I see you link is for the longer version, it was the smaller ones I tried.

I bought a Curl Secret today and ... wow! It's fab! I have short hair - a just below jaw length bob with lots of long layers and it works really well... I'm hopeless with tongs and was always burning myself. I've had a babyliss big hair for a couple of years and that's really good, so spurred on by that I decided to part with a wedge (a big wedge eeek!) for the curl secret. I had a lot of vouchers for Christmas so it wasn't tooo painful. Happy hair days!
