Small Business

Hi
Hoping somebody could give me a bit of advice regarding this small business idea that i have and the tax implications etc.
I play for a local cricket side and basically run our club website. We use a company platform. Now i have seen an opportunity where i was to help set up these websites for clubs around our county. They could then update them themselves or i could do it for them for an hourly rate.
Now i've never had my own business but think it could work. Not sure how much interest there would be but would i need to register the business or could i just do it on the side? if it can be done on the side how much can i earn before i have to declare it or would i need to declare it from the start.
I have never had a business so not sure how i would go about the business yet but any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I don't want to rain on your parade, but googling "cricket club" brings up 180,000,000 results and scanning through to page 30 it seems like every cricket club in the world already has a web site.0

You have to declare it, legally, as soon as you have £0.01 of revenue generated.
Unless there are particular burning reasons otherwise you'd be sensible initially doing things as a sole trader which just requires a quick phonecall to HMRC to register and then doing an annual tax return where you declare your employee and self employed earnings/ costs. Registering a Ltd company would be overkill and makes life more complicated.
It may be worth doing some market research first though to test the level of interest0
