How can I find out...

Hi,

Is there anyway that I can find out if someone has gone bankrupt?
This person would have gone past the point of discharge.

I have looked on the london gazette and can't find them and also on the insovency government register but it only seems to be throwing up info of ppl who would still either be in a live IVA or who would have been discharged. ( going by the dates.)

Or does this mean that, because they aren't appearing, that they simply haven't gone bankrupt?

Many thanks

    Hi,

The London Gazette is the best resource, have you tried searching with the format Surname, First Name(s)? I have checked and everyone I know that has gone bankrupt appears there using that method, but the results aren't so good if you put the first name first.

    Hope this Helps.

  • Thankyou , yes I have tried with the full name .. trouble is I dont know anyone else ( except myself and I am still undischarged) .. but they arent coming up.. not under anything. i suspect that they havent gone bankrupt at all and its yet another lie in a long list of lies from this individual.

If they have gone bankrupt anytime earlier than the last week or so then they should be on there. Exception would be if they had got a stay in the gazetting for some reason; e.g. vulnerable due to domestic violence, some sort of pending challenge to the BR etc.

The Gazette is fickle to search though. Occasionally obvious searches don't reveal what they should.

Fermi is correct, i've sent you a PM with details of a bankrupt and how to search for them, as I didn't want to post names on here.
  • thank you ..
i have searched with his middle name too... and on the insolvency register government site.
    No sign of him.
