Depends on the lender and your circumstances.

I have had offers issued within a week or 4 months. the majority will be at the lower end of that though.

    Agreement in principle?

Agreement on full application, with instruction to valuer?

    Mortgage offer issued?

TBH you're going to have to be more specific. The lender concerned would help.

  • Did your bank not quote you the timescale involved? In our case, we applied with First Direct, who quoted 6-8 weeks. In actual fact it only took about 4, between sending back the application form with ID documents, bank statements etc and receiving the mortgage offer.

It is also very much dependant on the surveyor - your bank won't issue a formal offer (or if they do it will be subject to survey) until the valuation survey is carried out. We were lucky, as the surveyor carried out the survey within a few days of being requested, however there are many posts on here that suggest surveyors are busy at present.
