    Ah, that's nice.

I didn't realise it was last year's post until I read your update.

Just reading about how many people and how much food made me feel like reaching for my 'Bah! Humbug' hat and going back to bed.

Have a good one this year.

Just thinking back on last yrs xmas and remembering I never updated this post! Thanks to all that gVe advice, it was golden advice really helped on the day.

All went ok apart from a couple of minor mishaps where we had to stick the meat from legs of lamb back on the griddle to finish cooking and I forgot to salt the potatoes which meant I had to go over everyone's plate with a salt grinder (before it was handed out)! :rotfl:

I'm glad the day went well.

Not so sure about the salt and potatoes - I never use salt when cooking potatoes and wouldn't appreciate it being added for me on the plate.

Neither would I - I hate added salt to food after it's cooked, and hate too much salt in food during cooking.

Never like any kind of vegetable soup in restaurants or shop bought as its all too salty, so I have to make my own non salty stuff!

I would also agree about the salt.

We very rarely put salt in any of our food, definitely not potatoes or any other veg.
I think it's like moving from having sugar in your tea or coffee, it tastes strange to start with but you get used to it.

I'd have hated to have salt ground over my food when it was on the plate.

Yeah it may not have been the ideal thing to do but I made a split second decision :o the potatoes did taste really bland to me though, i always salt potatoes though not veg

having said that my in-laws like very salty/flavoured food so think it wasn't salty enough for them even then :rotfl:
