Hi everyone
Just checking in to say that you are all doing amazing !!
I am itching to get on here next year once I am debt free. Watching all your savings go up is keeping me focussed on clearing this debt this year (currently £9k to go and paying off around £1k per month)

I am back to square one. Feel like iv got zilch. Sitting at £1,200 with a few £££ left to come out this month and another £1,100 due in. So will end April on about £2,000 if I'm lucky. Time to get serious and salvage my savings, get as close to 5 figure as possible before the winter weather hits again. Don't know why but iv started doing well with savings finally then booked 2 holidays!! Only got myself to blame but at least paid for with savings! They are not till end of May and one later on in year but savings taken a serious dent!! Time to get the finger out!! Football season ends soon which will save me at least £100 a fortnight plus extra earnings on top when I normally would be at football instead of work!! Cracking on and getting back on track before it's too late!! Night in tonight, hopefully no spend days for the rest of April!!:eek:Living frugally at 24

I'm getting 6% at First Direct, 5% Nationwide FlexDirect and 4% at Yorkshire Bank. All these rates beat ISAs at the mo, even allowing for the tax relief.
Thank you so much for the info, everyone keeps telling me ISAs but I'll try First Direct or Nationwide and get them set up for next payday.8 years of being on a DMP finished 3/3/140 -
Hi all, well done to those who are still saving away.. I haven't been around for a while but I'm still saving. I've just updated the form to show £300 saved for April. It's not a lot because I splashed out on a wardrobe, but I should be able to save more in the months ahead. We usually get a small bonus from work in June/July (about £300 before tax), so that will go in savings too. Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.470

Going quite well atm, no expensive spends so far this month but I do have the car insurance in May so am saving for that. I will of course search for the best value, my only loyalty is to my purse.
Hit a landmark this month, last June I had to change my car and bought a new-to-me one, this month I've managed to get my savings back to the amount I had before buying the car. Don't ask me how! But very happy with that.
Will do a tot up next week and hope to put away as much as I did last month toward NZ.0 -
I had a really good month generally - 1834.50. I hope this gets me on target or atleast growing properly...My Goal: From 1st of Jan 2015 to 31st of December 2015 is to save 30000.
48.78% towards 2015 target.
105.3% towards 2014 target. :j0 -
Hello...just popped on to say that I am currently officially at £2262/£10,000. Sorry I can't update spread sheet because my work computer won't let me on!
Overall I do have about £2000 more than this to count in my 10 grand...however I need a bit of surplus cash to do a bit of juggling around in my FlexDirect account etc to try and get some extra interest. I only want to declare monies that are officially in my "untouchable" savings...then at the end of the year count in my "juggling around" money!
Does anyone have any good ways at the moment that they are making any extra cash? I need to get back on the *bay train!Save 12k in 2014 (my target: £10 000):
My savings: £4878.54/£7000
Joint account savings: £2685.57/£3000

I've been Ebaying quite a bit, but yesterday had my first Etsy sale. Sold some pictures for £50 that I had put together in frames. Feeling inspired to try and get a bit more creative and use Etsy instead of Ebay now.0 -
Hi.
I know I'm *really really really* behind, but I'd like to join in if you'll have me.
I'm looking at buying a house with OH towards the beginning of 2016 and would personally like to have at least £5000 saved up for my part of a deposit. This will be spread across the two years (2014 & 2015).
This year I would like to enter the challenge with a goal of £2000 for 2014.
I will be saving this into my N-wide account which is where my second job wages go into (all my bills are covered by my first job) and will be looking to update with what the bank says is in that account at the end of each month.
It'll be a bit slow to start with - have roughly £3 in there and am going on holiday in 2 weeks, so will officially be starting with this challenge after that on the 19th May.
I'm ok with saving, but just need a bit of boosting/motivation, and hopefully a challenge will help.
