NSD today :T, lounging about in my jim jams and cleaning in the ad breaks. Kiddos have gone to see gran and Grampa, hubby's at work and it's the first time I've had time on my own in forever so I'm enjoying every second of it
I should be buying the last few bits and bobs I need for Xmas but I'm enjoying the empty house too much! Working tomorrow so I'll attempt a mad dash when I finish or on my lunch break to get what's needed. I hope the nutters won't be out in force scrambling over the last bag of sprouts. :rotfl: Car loan as of 01/01/2014 :[STRIKE] £3282.28[/STRIKE] 01/02/14 £2289.17 (36 month term started 09/2013 39.9%)

Supermarket was a nightmare!! Managed to get everything except washing powder, which I'll send hubby out for tomorrow (such a nice wife
).
Working tomorrow, boo, but think everything's set for Christmas. Going to try and prep most of the meal tomorrow evening to save time and stress on the big day. Ha! I'll believe that when it happens.
Totally cream crackered so off up the sleepy staircase to Bedfordshire for me.Car loan as of 01/01/2014 :[STRIKE] £3282.28[/STRIKE] 01/02/14 £2289.17 (36 month term started 09/2013 39.9%)

So a few days of bargain snatching at the supermarkets and I managed to get a load of bakery items for 9p each so the freezer is well stocked

Not much else to report right now. Pay day soon and I can't wait!!Car loan as of 01/01/2014 :[STRIKE] £3282.28[/STRIKE] 01/02/14 £2289.17 (36 month term started 09/2013 39.9%)

Yay, payday!!!! £220 paid off family loan so down to the last debt. Have also stashed £100 away into a "slush fund". Here's to 2014 being the end of being in debt!
Happy new year everyone xxCar loan as of 01/01/2014 :[STRIKE] £3282.28[/STRIKE] 01/02/14 £2289.17 (36 month term started 09/2013 39.9%)

So, financial goals for this year:
1) pay off car loan by August (planning to overpay by £400 a month)
2) save £600 for emergency/slush fund by June (£100 a month)
3) save £2500 towards house deposit by the end of 2014 (£500 a month August-December)
Come on 2014 let's be having you

Soooo budget wise all going well so far, have just plugged some figures into an overpayment calculator and if we stick to plan and overpay our loan by £400 a month we'll save approx £1600 in interest!!! Definite motivation there to get it gone and gone for good!
Have signed up for even more overtime so next months wage should be double what I normally get. Hubby's earned approx £300 in OT too so after overpaying the loan and setting aside some in the slush fund we're finally buying the kids new beds. It's been a long time coming and the ones they have now were begged and borrowed until we could afford new. As ridiculous as it sounds this makes me SO happy. Finally feel like we're getting somewhere

Finally remembered to renew my car insurance today. Called my current provider to tell them I wouldn't be renewing and that I had a quote which was £150 cheaper and included protected no claims. I thought they may have tried to haggle with me but they didn't bother their buttocks. Sooo now my monthly figure is down from £40 to £27.19. Not quite sure how paying car insurance monthly works in regards to credit files but i'm hoping it will have a good impact on mine as before now all direct debits came out of my hubby's account. I now have the car insurance, pet insurance, car service plan and gym memberships coming out of my account with no missed payments so fingers crossed it will be doing some good!

Which reminds me, I need to write letters to the gym giving one months notice to cancel our membership!!Car loan as of 01/01/2014 :[STRIKE] £3282.28[/STRIKE] 01/02/14 £2289.17 (36 month term started 09/2013 39.9%)

My wage is the bare minimum I get. I have never received this amount yet in almost a year. I always get overtime of some description, Sunday premium and I earn commission which is at least £50/ month. I don't like to rely on OT or commission so haven't put it in above.
£400 will go towards overpaying the car loan per month and then any OT and comm will be used as spending £. If available spends seem high then I'll over pay the loan some more.
My God, I've just read over this post and I've bored myself rigid! I'll try and make my next posts a tad more entertaining
:A
(Apologies for the lay out and gobbledygook. I'm on hubby's iPad and I have no idea what I'm doing!!

Sooooo I've been working the last few days, commissions sat at £60 for next month which isn't too bad considering it was only a 3 week period and I was on holiday for one of those weeks
. Commission built after that is also sat at £60 so far but with a further 4 weeks of the time frame left so there's opportunity to boost that!
Phoned the gym this morning and our contract ends at the end of this month. Need to give a months notice so 1 more payment and we're done! WOOHOO!!! Hubby's not so happy but I'm sure he'll come round when we get some bits and bobs to workout at home. If not then he can bench press my Lardy butt, that will be a serious workout hehe!
Got a bit of disappointing news at work. After Feb they're cutting back on overtime as they're over budget so I'll be back down to my basic hours <boo hiss boo> but spoke to hubby and he's happy to do 1 overtime shift a month so we can keep on track! It's ridiculous, he earns in 1 shift pretty much what I earn in a week. I'm so in the wrong job!!Car loan as of 01/01/2014 :[STRIKE] £3282.28[/STRIKE] 01/02/14 £2289.17 (36 month term started 09/2013 39.9%)

OOOooooo, just logged in to my online banking and the Child Benefit has been paid in. Because I work it out as 12 monthly payments instead of 13 4 weekly ones it means this one is 'surplus' and we can manage until the next one is due. So, for the first time in a long time we have been sensible and instead of thinking "i'm going to buy a gold plated toilet seat", or something equally unnecessary I have logged straight on to the loan website and made an over payment of £180 :T
Oh, this being a grown up malarky is strange!!
Now I have to break it to the hubby that his derriere will have to make do with B&Q's finest loo seat for a little while longer.Car loan as of 01/01/2014 :[STRIKE] £3282.28[/STRIKE] 01/02/14 £2289.17 (36 month term started 09/2013 39.9%)
